Bernard Matthews Youth Awards 2015

This year marked the 7th year of the Bernard Matthews Youth Awards and it was another remarkable evening (Tuesday 27th October 2015) recognising and rewarding inspiring young people aged 11-18 years old in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The event was held at OPEN in the heart of Norwich with The Garage providing the evening’s entertainment, tap dancing beat boxers and glow in the dark hoola hooping were just some of the acts from the evening.

This year saw an outstanding number of nominations in all eight categories which include Food and Farming, Sport, Community, Charity, Arts, Bravery, Education and the Hero category. The judges were truly impressed by all the entries showcasing the talent, passion and commitment that young people have. For the first time ever, this year the Community category was voted for by the public on the Bernard Matthews website (website design by Shorthose Russell), with the Eastern Daily Press presenting the award to the winner.

Actress Dani Harmer and BBC TV presenter David Whiteley hosted the event where £1,000 of award funding was given to the winners of all eight categories, which will help young people to fulfil a dream, goal or ambition.

In the last seven years the Bernard Matthews Youth Awards have given nearly £60,000 in prize money, spent 35 hours judging nominations and featured in 60 pages of coverage showcasing young people.
