Every year the Shorthose team get together for a day out of the office trying something new with lots of laughs and bonding time! We’ve had a few new faces join the team this year and an Away Day is the perfect chance to get to know each other a bit more whilst having fun.
As always, our Office Manager, Natalie, had plenty of surprises in store, usually we don’t find out until the day but we received our invitation a few days early (an opportunity for us to plan our outfits you see!!)
On board the SRL fun bus we headed for the big smoke for our first activity of the day, an interactive tour around the Tate Modern. For a team of creatives, it was the perfect chance to get those creative juices flowing and take some inspiration from different artists for existing campaigns and those we have in the pipeline.
Next stop was axe throwing! An activity we had never heard of before and in true SRL the gloves were off and the competition was hotting up. The team at Whistlepunks gave us a demo on how to throw our axes. The idea is just like darts, you have to hit the board and try and score the most points. The competition ended with a head to head between MD Pete and Marketing HOD Bainsey, with Mr Chris Baines being crowned SRL axe throwing champion.
After a chance to test our skills with some axe throwing trick shots we were definitely ready to refuel with burgers and cocktails at All Star Lanes in Shoreditch. The competition got going once again as we were let loose in the bowling alley, the Shorthose strikers demonstrated their skills and also how not to take a photobooth photo.
